Testimonials

As an allied health professional myself, I know how hard testing children can be and how important it is to get the best result at the time of testing. This is the first time I have been the parent of a child in the testing situation and I couldn't have been happier. We are amazed and proud of our 4 year old boys' results! Taryn, you had fantastic rapport with our son and were able to maintain his attention and bring out his potential which I believe resulted in an accurate portrayal of his cognitive level. The report was extremely detailed and was written within 2 days. I appreciate the time you have also spent in answering my questions since receiving the report. I will keep you posted on our journey into the realm of parenting and educating a gifted and talented child! May 2010

Dear Taryn,

I just wanted to drop you a line and let you know how important and helpful your report on E has been to us in steering her educational path. With it we were able to confidantly facilitate a grade skip across several subjects this year and she will be moving on to a new school one year ahead of schedule to access grade three-four next year. Her receiving school will be tailoring an educational and mentoring/counselling program for her and has made good use of your report to help them achieve this. Your professional assessment of her needs has helped them (and us!) immensely.
Many many many thanks! May 2010

Dear Taryn,

Thank you for the thorough evaluation of our children. It was a pleasure to meet you, and both K and S enjoyed the time they spent with you.

We both read the reports before discussing it with each other and then we had a long talk. Of course we were thrilled to see that the kids are doing so well. The most amazing thing though was that almost every aspect of your interpretation just strengthens our previous gut feelings.

As a parent, we know that we are biased in favour of our own children. It is sometimes difficult to distinguish between our kids true excellent accomplishments and our own "wishful thinking". Having your report confirms our observations, and we would really like to thank you for this.

The most important thing however was the pinpointing of the children's learning styles. We have no question already seen that S is very good at and enjoys puzzles, mazes and three dimensional challenges. However, the true magnitude of the visual-spatial learning style was not at all clear to us. Reading your report and some of the recommended resources, I realise that much of how I planned for this year somehow intuitively will fit them just perfectly. I was planning to substitute teaching, drilling and practicing with learning through exploration and discover the big concepts first and then fill in the details on their individual levels. It is going to be challenging and so much fun!

Thank you once again for doing this for us. Your report was very clear and makes perfect sense. It would be great if we could do it again at the end of the year.

Very best wishes

J

The report is very informative. P enjoyed his time with you immensely and overall I think he appears happier and is more willing to talk to me about school.

Taryn,

Thank you so much for seeing G. We were very happy with the testing and how it was carried out, it was a very relaxed environment and we felt very comfortable. I am very happy with the results G achieved in the testing and am very proud of her.

The report gave me the confidence to approach the school and request that the level of work provided for G, be more challenging and at 'her' level. The school has agreed that G's talents were not being catered for and have committed to ensuring that G's needs are met in the future. So fingers crossed that this is what they needed to see her potential! I have since had a meeting with her teacher and she promises me that she will do more to help G achieve to her full potential.

So a very big thank you, it was well worth my time and money to know that G's needs, will now be noticed.

Regards,

Hi Taryn,

This is a quick email to let you know that my daughter S, whom did the IQ test with you late last year have been accepted at the new school I was hoping to have her attend. Thank you very much for all your help and kind assistance in ensuring that we received her results in time before the end of the school year, and for taking the IQ testing session very enjoyable for S. Best regards

Hello Taryn,

Thank you so much for sending through your lovely report written with D's results. We were delighted to receive confirmation of our thoughts and are now realising we will need to embark on a further journey to help her develop as she grows through life. Thank you again.

Hi Taryn,

It was great to meet you and I felt that you communicated with B well and put him at ease. He had fun. So thanks. It was interesting - he kept remembering the numbers questions where he failed and correcting them. He really enjoyed being challenged - that was interesting for me to see.

The report is interesting reading - I guess it was worthwhile after all - it's something concrete that we can deal with. Because although I knew he was bored at school I am genuinely surprised at where B sits in his group!

Dear Taryn

Thank you so much for your prompt report. It confirms exactly what I/we have suspected and it will be interesting to see if any of his ability is reflected in K's school report, due today. We will be seeking an appointment with the school to make sure that they appreciate our concerns and K's particular needs. I can't thank you enough for your time and patience with K last week. Best Wishes.

Hi Taryn

Thank you very much for recommending T goes to school earlier.

She has progressed very well so far. She is now in all the top academic groupings - reading, writing, maths. She has made a few good friends in her school. She's received her 1st Merit Certificate on her first week in school. Yesterday, the class held an assembly, she read a lot to begin the meeting! I'm so proud of her and meanwhile we appreciated you very much. If without your suggestion and support, we might still let her stay in her childcare. Thank you very much for identifying her talent and supporting us to enable her to enrol to school earlier! Warmest Regards.

Thank you Taryn.

Was a pleasure to meet you too, you were lovely and helped L feel comfortable with the whole process. And what great results - I know she is a compassionate, caring, intelligent girl and it is wonderful to see that validated. I am sure your test and findings will go a long way towards helping her get into the Selective stream at her school and being given many opportunities to learn more, which she loves! Will let you know how we go, Warm wishes.

Hi Taryn,

Thank you so much for everything.

I was initially worried that R may be a bit shy on the day of testing, but you made her feel very comfortable. She said on the way home that although she enjoyed completing the test, her brain was feeling tired after so much thinking!!

Thank you for the report, we have read through it again and again. It is very detailed and has some great advice and suggestions.

I am going take a copy in to R's primary school and arrange a meeting with the principal so we can work out a program for her.

I am also looking into joining some of the associations you mentioned.

Thank you and I will be back to see you in about two years to have C tested!!

Oh Taryn! That is fantastic! Tears of happiness here. I can't believe it, sometimes I think I make it all up and it's so nice to have proof now....thank you so much! I will definitely keep you posted on her progress at school.

Thank you very much for your assessment of xx and the beautifully written report. We will take up your recommendations for xx to encourage and nurture his continued development.

Dear Taryn,
It was great to meet you too last week and thanks so much for sending the report on time. Your report is very clear and comprehensive. My husband and I have poured over it and it has very much helped us to put things into perspective. You have provided some excellent suggestions which we will discuss with xx's teacher tomorrow. It is great that we now have some concrete information to go by. Thanks again for doing the assessment. You were lovely and I could see that xx responded really well to you!

Thank you so much Taryn. This high quality report is thorough and most informative. We are delighted with the results and very proud of xx.

"Dr Bloom was able to relate very warmly to my shy 6 year old son. He enjoyed the testing session very much and asked me on the way home when he could come back and do it all again!" K.R.

"My 7 year old son was becoming very bored at school and his motivation to attend class was deteriorating. I had met with his teacher several times to discuss this and whether he could have access to a reading group in the year ahead of him - but to no avail! Following testing I presented the SCATS report to his teacher and she agreed to have him join the advanced groups. He is much happier at school these days to our relief." P.M.

"We needed to have our daughter tested for selective school admission at very short notice and SCATS was extremely accommodating. We had the report within a week!" A J.

Dear Taryn,

Thank you so much, we appreciate your time and after reading the report we are very glad to find that K is fine and progressing at a good rate for his age. Also the positive thing is that the areas of improvement that you found were the same that James & I were already aware of and assisting K on improving. This test has given us piece of mind and we can now continue to help K in achieving his best in his areas of need without focusing on issues that are clearly not there.

Taryn, again we cannot thank you enough and wish you all the best, you will come very highly recommended by us.

Kind regards. March 2011

Hi Taryn just wanted to say thank you so much for your report on J. It all makes sense now! I am so pleased and relieved that he won't be labelled and that he will now reach his potential. The report was a fabulous boost to his confidence and his tutor and speech therapist and I are all studying your recommendations so we can do our bit! Thank you once again. May 2011
